What is the difference between “Home Care” and “Home Health Care”?
Home Care also known as Home- Based Care, involves non-medical support for the elderly within their residences. Offered services encompass health, personal, and additional support services such as bathing, dressing, light cleaning, cooking, and running errands — all tailored to help you.
These services empower seniors to maintain independence in their own homes. Health insurance generally does not cover these services unless individuals are enrolled in Home and Community-Based Waiver Programs through Medicaid. However, private pay and Long Term Care Insurance can assist in covering the associated costs.
Home Health Care, being medical in nature, necessitates a prescription from your physician. These services encompass skilled nursing care, physical or occupational therapy, among others. Typically, your health care insurance covers all or a portion of these services. For example, Medicare often covers a certain period of time where these services may be determined needed by a physician.
What services are excluded from Intercede's home-based in-home care?
It's important to note that certain services, including seasonal chores, maintenance, general housecleaning, lawn services, or care for other family members or guests in the household, are not included unless explicitly arranged through our office. For those seeking additional services, such as general house cleaning or care for other household members, we can facilitate arrangements at a slightly increased fee beyond our standard rates. At Intercede Home Healthcare, your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, and we are dedicated to accommodating your distinctive needs with flexibility and care.
